What does the QR code link to?
It links to a wa.me URL (the official WhatsApp click-to-chat format). When someone scans it with their phone camera or a QR reader, WhatsApp opens with your number ready to chat — and your pre-filled message in the text box if you added one.
Which format should I download — PNG or SVG?
Use PNG for digital use (social media, email, web). Use SVG for print — it's infinitely scalable so your QR code stays crisp at any size on flyers, banners, or packaging.
How large can I print the QR code?
The SVG version is vector-based and scales to any size without losing quality. For PNG, the exported image is 400×400px which is suitable for printing up to roughly 5×5cm at 300dpi. For larger print sizes, use the SVG download.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The QR code is just a visual encoding of your wa.me link. As long as the phone number is active on WhatsApp, the code will work indefinitely. Nothing is stored on our servers.
Can I add my logo to the QR code?
Our free generator creates a standard QR code. For branded QR codes with a logo overlay, you can use a design tool like Canva after downloading the SVG. The error correction level is set to M (15%) which leaves room for a small logo overlay.
What's the difference between a QR code and a wa.me link?
A wa.me link works on digital surfaces where people can tap (websites, social media, email). A QR code works on physical surfaces where people can scan (print, signage, packaging). Both open the same WhatsApp chat — it's just two delivery formats for the same destination.
