What makes a great Messenger welcome message#
Looking at the examples above, the best-performing ones share four traits:
- They confirm receipt immediately. Customers don't know if their message went through. "Got your message" or "Thanks for reaching out" removes that anxiety.
- They set a response time. "Within 2 hours" or "within one business day" stops customers from assuming you're ignoring them.
- They ask one qualifying question. One question. Not three. Not a form. Just enough to route the conversation the right way and show you're paying attention.
- They use the business name. "This is [Business Name]" tells the customer they're in the right place and adds professionalism. Skip "Hi there!" or "Hello friend!" - it reads as automated.

Option 1: Meta Business Suite (free, manual only)#
- Go to Meta Business Suite → Inbox → Automations
- Select Instant Reply
- Write your message (up to 160 characters for the preview, 500 for the full message)
